video-shotcraft is a large product-video production kit, while the download on this page is a lightweight Grow AI Skills companion. The upstream source supplies recipes, exact Remotion implementations, templates, audio, and routed production knowledge. The companion pins that authority, requires inspectable product and media records, and makes encoded-video QA and delivery boundaries harder to skip.

What the lightweight companion contains

The downloadable ZIP contains an original production-contract Skill, product-truth and route boundaries, encoded-video quality gates, Codex interface metadata, and the retained Relayboard behavior-test record. It deliberately does not mirror the approximately 99 MB upstream recipe, demo, template, and audio tree. Install the authoritative source separately at a reviewed commit so code, assets, attribution, and license records stay together.

Watch or download the complete 36.2-second Relayboard template substitution. It uses only fictional UI and synthetic visible data.

What the checked source contains

  • Skill entrypoint: a bilingual SKILL.md that chooses among template, autonomous, guided, and single-shot work.
  • Motion library: 157 named recipe cards in ten functional categories, with 214 styles and motion previews in the generated Gallery index.
  • Exact implementations: Remotion TSX demos that carry the tuned timing, easing, masking, and choreography behind the card descriptions.
  • Complete template: Ink Press, documented as 1,085 frames on a 1920 × 1080 canvas at 30 fps—about 36.2 seconds across ten shots.
  • Production references: autonomous and guided pipelines, sequences, aesthetic rules, music analysis, sound design, final review, workbench integration, and JianYing export guidance.
  • Reusable code and media: capture helpers, page-camera components, captions, transitions, effects, music, and sound effects with a separate attribution ledger.

The important design choice

A recipe name is an index, not a complete specification. The Skill tells the agent to resolve the selected name in the Gallery data, read the full card, follow its reference to the exact demo, and adapt the tuned code. This avoids a common failure in agent workflows: remembering the idea of an effect while discarding the tested timing and implementation details that made it convincing.

The same principle applies to product identity. Recipes contribute movement. The film's typography, density, palette, corners, surfaces, and material cues should come from the target product. Real product screens are captured from an approved state; demonstration fixtures are replaced before publication.

Install the companion and a pinned upstream checkout

Authoritative upstream at the tested commit
git clone https://github.com/Vincentwei1021/video-shotcraft.git
cd video-shotcraft
git checkout 5f047c7cfe10d6616fe59160a750fcfaea510b2e

Download the companion ZIP from this page, inspect its five text files, then extract the top-level video-shotcraft-product-launch folder into a project .agents/skills directory or your user-level skills directory. Follow the upstream README for its host-specific link. Confirm that both Skills appear, and record the upstream commit in every project.

Choose one of three complete-film modes

  1. Ink Press: retain the template's sequence and motion structure while replacing its product screens, copy, and brand system.
  2. Autonomous creation: let the agent make and record creative choices, then continue through production unless a real blocker appears.
  3. Guided creation: approve the brief, creative requirements, visual direction, feature-to-shot mapping, and final storyboard before production continues.

A single-shot request can name a Gallery card without selecting a full-film route. If a complete promo names exact cards but does not choose autonomous or guided creation, the remaining question is creative-control mode, not whether to discard those cards.

What our local checks established

At commit 5f047c7cfe10d6616fe59160a750fcfaea510b2e, the upstream Skill passed the bundled OpenAI Skill Creator validator and its 23 deterministic helper tests passed with Vitest. The new companion Skill also passed the bundled structural validator and was packaged as the downloadable v1.0 ZIP.

For behavior testing, we built Relayboard, a fictional incident-handoff interface with fully synthetic data. The re-skin covers screen captures, demonstration records, editorial statements, bottom strips, logo lockup, and the color system; the 1,085-frame movement and SFX timeline stayed fixed. Remotion rendered the entire composition at 1920 × 1080 and 30 fps. The final 36.224-second delivery file is H.264 High, yuv420p limited-range BT.709 with AAC-LC 48 kHz stereo audio.

Thirteen source frames, a fourteen-frame encoded contact sheet, and the clean end-card poster were reviewed. FFmpeg found no qualifying black interval and no freeze over 1.5 seconds. The SFX-only mix measured −21.9 LUFS integrated with a −3.0 dBTP true peak. Five inherited sounds without traceable URLs were replaced at the same cue points with exact-URL Mixkit Sound Effects Free License alternatives, and the end card now visibly says “Fictional product demo · synthetic data.” The full-range master to limited-range delivery conversion measured SSIM 0.998521 and PSNR 52.04 dB, followed by a visual check. That evidence supports one template route on one host; it does not prove autonomous or guided creation, workbench round-trip behavior, JianYing export, publication, cross-host reproducibility, product approval, or campaign performance.

Operational boundaries to keep visible

  • Do not capture real customer, employee, secret, internal, live, or unreleased data. Freeze a synthetic state first.
  • Do not let a video task modify the business product unless that change is explicitly in scope.
  • Do not present hand-built mock UI as the shipping product.
  • Do not reuse a demo's font, palette, or material treatment when it conflicts with the target brand.
  • Do not interpret an attractive render as product-truth, privacy, accessibility, rights, brand, or publication approval.
  • Do not assume the repository's Apache-2.0 license replaces Remotion's license or the separate terms recorded for audio assets.

Start with a bounded request

Read-only mode recommendation
Use $video-shotcraft to inspect this product read-only: [PATH OR URL].
The safe demo route is [ROUTE], and all visible data is synthetic.
The audience is [AUDIENCE], and the one launch goal is [GOAL].
Recommend Ink Press, autonomous creation, or guided creation with reasons.
Do not capture, edit the product, or build the video yet.

If you already know the route, say so directly: “Use the Ink Press template,” “Use autonomous creation,” or “Use guided creation.” For a recipe-specific task, paste the exact Gallery name.

Use the full production prompt

The matching product launch prompt adds the campaign facts, data classification, brand rules, required screens, creative-control mode, review policy, and delivery contract. The Learn guide explains the production method and documents exactly what the Relayboard film establishes.
